Odisha state government asks SSU-Hospital to team up in fight against COVID-19

The need is real

In Odisha, with a population of 45 million people, the majority of doctors move elsewhere for better opportunities, leaving behind a trail of crumbling public health.

Patients need to walk 16 miles to get access to basic healthcare.

The village of Potani (pop. 50,000) does not have a single doctor.

There are not enough beds, so patients are treated in the hallway.

Only 2,000 doctors are produced in Odisha every year, yet they serve a population of 45 million people.
